Boards and Committees
Many of TALM’s boards and committees fulfil a legal obligation placed on French public institutions for cultural cooperation (EPPCs – Établissement Public de Coopération Culturelle), while others have been created to facilitate in-house communication and coordination.
The Executive Board
The executive board is the official body which signs off structural decisions (budget, staff, teaching arrangements, general administration matters). It is made up of representatives from the local authorities, the State, the teaching staff, students, and other qualified members.
It is headed by one of the councillors for culture from Tours, Angers or Le Mans over a three-year period.
The CPVE (Academic advisory committee)
The CPVE (Conseil pédagogique de la vie étudiante) is an academic advisory committee made up of teachers, staff, students, the deputy directors, and teacher coordinators and is chaired by the general director.
They discuss the school’s educational orientation, course organisation, and matters concerning student life. The CPVE performs a vital role, enabling extensive dialogue between sites, and sets out TALM’s pedagogical strategy over the mid- to long-term.
The Scientific Committee
Composed of qualified members, the management team and teachers, the scientific committee governs TALM’s research matters.
The Technical Committee
With support teams and teaching staff represented in equal measure, the technical committee makes decisions about the way TALM is organised and run, and about the school’s general human resources policy.
The CHSCT (Occupational Health and Safety Committee)
The CHSCT (Comité hygiène sécurité et conditions de travail) is made up of representatives from the support and academic staff. Their work is important due to the specific nature of its activities and the variety of workshops we have on site.
The Disciplinary Committee
In the event of a serious breach of internal regulations, students may be summoned by the disciplinary committee which will decide on a possible sanction.
The Management Committee (Codir)
Referred to as the Codir, the management committee is made up of the general director, deputy directors/campus directors, the admin and finance manager and the HR manager. They meet weekly. The Codir is the TALM's executive and operational body for administration and teaching.
The Research Committee
The senior leadership team and academic staff involved in research sit on the research committee, which meets to discuss projects prior to the scientific committee meeting and issues proposals regarding the content and organisation of research at TALM. These meetings are also an opportunity to discuss research projects and create synergies between academic staff members and researchers.
The Supervisory Committee
This committee is made up of the school’s senior leadership team and administrative representatives of the local governing authorities. They meet ahead of executive board meetings to go over any technical aspects with the councillors.
