Proteiform Block of Becoming (BDD)
Architecture and games
Bloc de devenir (BDD), was founded in 2016, further to a collaboration between professors Christophe Le Gac, Denis Brillet, Pascal Riffaud and BLOCK architect agency. This experiment is designed along three converging lines: Image-place, indexed shapes and Design Game Global (D2G). Setting up the Design Game Global (D2G) research and creation workshop is open to 3rd, 4th and 5th-year students from all specialisations. They must commit to a plastic work inspired by the world of playful gaming. To support experimentation, a research seminar was launched in parallel: BDD: Bloc De Devenir – De l’image habitée à l’image-lieu, en passant par les formes indexées. (Block of Becoming - From inhabited images to the image-place by way of indexed forms)

In partnership with Laval 3Di, a bachelor degree in computer graphics from l’Université catholique de l’Ouest Laval, specialised in video games and interactive media. An exhibition on the theme “Creating plastic works from video games” planned to be shown at SOLO Houses was postponed due to the pandemic.
