To develop the school’s visibility and appeal, in recent years TALM has increased communication about its range of courses and entrance exam. The school has organised visits to high schools and preparatory classes (Saint-Brieuc, Cholet, Châteauroux, etc.) and taken part in education forums and fairs (Salon des Formations Artistiques in Paris, Start etc.). Diversifying candidate profiles for art schools has been a preoccupation for some time: How can we give wider access and attract candidates from different backgrounds? The risk of formatting or standardising candidate applications is real. This is perhaps a consequence of the central role played by private preparatory schools. TALM addressed this issue early by strengthening ties with high schools and preparatory schools, developing courses that prepare for entrance exams, and employing other measures to promote equal opportunity.
