Leading teachers-artists to PhD studies

TALM has chosen to develop support for teachers taking on PhD students, in order to strengthen its research team and to meet its research objectives in art and design. The institution began in 2019 by assisting two professors with their thesis and helping them to prepare their applications to calls for research projects.
- In 2019, Christophe Le Gac, architect, art critic, exhibition curator and professor at TALM-Angers obtained funding from the Observatoire de l’Imaginaire Contemporain (OIC) for his thesis L’Image-Lieu : l’habiter, la parcourir, la raconter (The image-place: Living it, browsing it, telling it) in L’Antique, Le Moderne laboratory (EA 4276, Université de Nantes and researcher-associate with Ambiances architectures urbanités laboratory (Urban Architecture Ambiances), CNRS joint research unit no.1563).
- In 2020, Denis Brillet, architect and professor at TALM-Angers, obtained funding from ALDEV-Angers for his ECOFOR thesis. Vers une écologie des formes. (Toward an ecology of forms). Movement of material and cultural forms as a tool for architectural creation (Centre de recherche nantais architectures de l’École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Nantes).
