Design and the Environment
DNSEP
Le Mans
The Design and the Environment module sets out to rethink the nature of the relationships and balance that humankind needs to build with its environment, focusing on ecology. How can we come up with new, sustainable types of relationships for land use and building? How can the designer contribute their knowledge and practices to a more virtuous circular economy and rethink their relationship with resources? Ultimately, how can we think about the habitability of the world, remedy the harm we have caused, and alter the way we live and behave?
Designers in this module will constantly strive to achieve deeper knowledge and experience of the environments studied by observation and investigation. They will be able to use the cutting-edge technological and digital tools available at TALM-Le Mans (IT, robotics and sound) which enables an original blend of creation and design methods at the crossroads between social experimentation and manufactured objects.
