The library – TALM-Le Mans’ documentary resource centre – is a place for learning, engaging and sharing. It provides students, teachers, researchers and art lovers with an extensive collection of more than 8,000 printed documents. Students can dig deeper into the theory and practical arts techniques they learn by perusing the collection of specialist works on visual arts – contemporary art, design, architecture – human sciences and literature. The content is tailored to the subjects taught at TALM-Le Mans, with sound design and computational design accounting for an increasing share of the collection.

There are more than 30 current general and specialist publications on art, sound, design, architecture, photography, cinema and human sciences, providing in-depth coverage of the latest happenings on the arts and culture scene.

The librarian works closely with the teaching staff to assist students with their individual projects and research and helps them to acquire document research skills by providing individuals or groups with advice on methodology. Another aspect of their role is to welcome visitors, including those from outside the school, to assist with their enquiries and to help them find their way around.

Access and loan conditions

Anybody can visit the library and borrow documents. Documents that are used for current learning projects may be temporarily removed from the loan section or reserved for TALM students.

Opening times
From 9:15 am to 12:45 pm, from 1:15 pm to 6:00 pm, on Monday et Thuesday.
From 9:15 am to 1:00 pm, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, on Wednesday.
From 9:15 am to 12:45 pm, from 1:45 pm to 5:00 pm, on Thursday.
From 9:15 am to 12:45 pm, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, on Friday.
