Candidates may be admitted to the first cycle (second and third years) for the following courses:

• Art;
• Art – Textile Techniques option;
• Design.

The test

Candidates are invited to attend an interview with the first-cycle equivalence committee. This 20-minute oral test will assess the candidate's motivation, creative aspiration, intellectual curiosity, ability to engage with contemporary issues, and ability to develop a thought process and personal art practice. The members of the committee will assess the candidate’s artistic portfolio and their ability to perform within the chosen field.

Qualifications

Candidates must have obtained 60 European credits to be admitted to semester 3 (second year) and 120 credits to enter semester 5 (third year).

These credits may have been obtained in France as part of a higher education programme at a public or private higher education institution, provided the institution is recognised by the French government or the course is delivered to the level of an equivalent recognised professional certification.

Alternatively, they may have been obtained in another Member State of the European Union or another State of the European Economic Area agreement, as part of studies undertaken at a higher education institution operating under the rules of the European Higher Education Area.

Qualifications obtained outside the European Union or a State of the European Economic Area agreement will be compared with French qualifications.

International candidates

Non-French-speaking international candidates must have sufficient French language skills to be able to read and communicate. They must also attest to having at least level B2 at the TCF (French language test) or the DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) – see www.ciep.fr/tcf for more details – and provide a copy of their qualifications with a certified translation if necessary.

French candidates not resident in mainland France

It is not possible to sit the Art and Design committees remotely.

Admin fees

Candidates are required to pay a €50 non-refundable admin fee before sitting the committee. This amount is set annually by the TALM Executive Board.

Please be aware that applications made to an Admissions Committee mid-course are separate for each site. As such, candidates wishing to apply to the Art committees at the Tours and Le Mans campuses, will be required pay the €50 admin fee twice, as two separate payments.
