Fabriques de l'art/Fabriques de l'histoire de l'art
Overview
Between 2014 and 2016, Sandra Delacourt, Katia Schneller and Vanessa Theodoropoulou organised the last section of the Fabriques de l’art/Fabriques de l’histoire de l’art (Art Factories/Art History Factories) research programme (2012-2016). Following up on work by the research seminar organised at INHA between 2012 and 2014 by Katia Schneller, Vanessa Theodoropoulou and Tristan Tremeau (Quelle actualité pour la critique institutionnelle aujourd’hui ? (The Latest in Institutional Criticism), the programme focused on historical, economic and epistemological analysis of the recent enthusiasm for artistic practices which use procedures traditionally employed in the social and human sciences.
Research results
Titled Le Chercheur et ses doubles (The Researcher and their Doubles), this project which associated international artists and curators, published a work bearing the same name in January 2016 with B42 publishing house. It brought together Kapwani Kiwanga, Otobong Nkanga, Mathieu Kleyebe Abonnenc, Emilie Velez and the curatorial platform Le Peuple Qui Manque (A People is Missing). The work was presented to the public at various events, including the Vision Research into Art and Design project, organised at Palais de Tokyo in Paris from 13 to 17 April 2016. For five days, research teams from several schools of art and design presented their activities and productions including documentation, archives, books, works, projections and conferences, etc.
Connection to the curriculum
The Fabriques de l’art/Fabriques de l’histoire de l’art research programme organises seminars and study days to which 3rd, 4th and 5th-year students are invited.
