Overview

This research programme is the extension and expansion of issues raised by L’Art du so(i)n (The Art of Car(I)ng) research workshop and creation developed between 2017 and 2019 in partnership with Le Mans hospital and Jean Bernard oncology centre. Two of the school’s options support this programme: Design et Territoires (Design and Territory) and Design Sonore (Sound Design). The objective is to work for a sensitive approach to territories through design. In this project, territory is viewed as a brand, a bond and a relational form to build on, hospitality as a means to explore, and human-generated activity as an unprecedented ecosystem to build-in, and design as a material and immaterial source and resource to roll-out.

Research results

• December 5, 2018, L’Art du so(i)n study day, in collaboration with Le Mans Hospital Centre, Victor Hugo Clinic, Jean Bernard Centre and the support of Le Mans Acoustics and Le Mans Innovation.
• December 4, 2019, Du soin vers l’hospitalité, approche sensible des territoires par le design et le sonore (From care to hospitality, a sensitive approach to territory by design and sound) study day as part of the Le Mans Sonore biennial.
• In 2019-2020, the monthly Anthropocène: usage et mésusage du monde (Humans: Use and Misuse of the World) seminar on the concept of the anthropogenic and a workshop on transitional city planning and controlling use of a brownfield.
